SUMMARY:Paloma Vineyard's 2026 Release Party
DESCRIPTION:Join us on August 16th for a casual\, open-house style tasting as we celebrate the release of our 2022 vintage. \nGuests will join us in one of four hosted tasting windows throughout the day\, allowing for a relaxed and comfortable pace as you enjoy the wines and the setting. You’ll taste through our newly released Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon—wines that are expressive today\, with the structure to continue evolving for years to come. \nThe 2022 vintage was shaped by a warm\, fast-moving growing season on Spring Mountain\, resulting in smaller yields and wines with beautiful concentration and energy. It’s a vintage that shows both intensity and balance—something we’re especially excited to share. The Merlot leans bright and expressive\, with notes of red plum\, blue fruit\, and soft floral tones\, while the Cabernet Sauvignon reveals itself more gradually\, opening into layered red fruit and a long\, evolving finish.  We’ll also have a thoughtfully prepared assortment of charcuterie to enjoy alongside the wines. \nAs always\, this is one of our favorite days of the year—an opportunity to share what we’ve been working on\, reconnect with familiar faces\, and welcome new ones into the Paloma family. If you’d like to join us\, please reach out using the link below. We’ll follow up with available tasting times and details. \nWe look forward to having you with us.

SUMMARY:“Hedging for Exposure"
DESCRIPTION:“Hedging for Exposure“ bridges the gap between viticultural science and sensory appreciation. Hedging is the precise trimming of excess vine growth to optimize sunlight penetration and airflow. \nThis curated TASTE ( Terrior\, Artisanal\, Small\, Trusted\, Engagement) experience showcases how canopy management directly alters the chemistry and ultimate flavor profile of the wine. \nGuided Vineyard Walk  \nWe start our experience walking through a Vertical Shoot Positioned trellis system. \n\nThe Unhedged Tunnel:  First\, we walk through an unhedged section where shoots are “flopping” over. We  look inside to see how excessive shading turns interior leaves yellow and traps cool humidity—the perfect breeding ground for fungal issues.\nThe Golden Hour Microclimate: Next we transition into the freshly hedged rows. I will demonstrate how trimming the shoots at a 90-degree angle opens up the fruiting zone. This allows dappled morning sunlight to dry the grapes and redirect the vine’s photosynthetic energy from growing leaves into ripening the fruit.\nThe Cool Climate Contrast: I will then explain the specific regional stakes. In cooler or more moderate regions like Oregon\, precise VSP hedging  is a balancing act: too little exposure leads to underripe\, aggressively herbaceous tones\, while over-hedging risks sun-scalding the fruit.\n\nHands-On Interaction  \nNext we will focus on an interactive\, tangible connection to the labor required for premium winemaking. \n\nThe 14th Internode Rule:  We will all be armed with pruning shears.  We will count the leaf nodes on a primary shoot\, and learn why viticulturists often target the 12th to 14th node to maintain an optimal leaf-to-cluster ripening ratio.\nTactile Canopy Shaping:  We then begin by manually tucking stray shoots into the catch wires or mimicking a precise “top and side” trim on a designated demonstration vine. You will clearly see how immediate geometry influences air movement and light infiltration.\n\nThe Sensorial “Exposure” Tasting \nOur concluding experience will be in the cellar where we will be tasting across vintages\, evaluating the nuance of vintage variation.  Finally\, we will be blending Pinot Noir from the 2024 vintage and three separate selections. Each guest will leave with the blend they created or preferred.  This experience combines the physical work in the vineyard to the subtle approach we use in blending for finished wines.  \nAugust 8th\, 2026 \n12 PM – 3PM   \n$75 per person includes an immersive vineyard experience\, tasting\, and blending session. \nhttps://www.exploretock.com/schaadcellars/event/613132/hedging-for-exposure \n

SUMMARY:Winemaker for the Morning
DESCRIPTION:Step into the sparkling world of Pet-Nat and experience the magic of winemaking firsthand. Hosted by winemaker Elise Nerlove\, this is your chance to become a working winemaker for the morning\, participating in the hands-on creation of our legendary Pet Nat! You’ll start with a live disgorging demonstration\, removing sediment from naturally fermented bottles using the ancestral method; no machines\, just pressure\, patience\, and a little help from dry ice. Then\, you’ll top\, cap\, and label a bottle using winery tools and equipment. \nAlong the way\, you’ll learn how each bottle becomes its own fermentation vessel and gain an insider’s perspective on the care\, craft\, and timing that makes pét-nat so unique. Taste\, observe\, and get your hands on the process in a way only a small\, intimate experience with the winemaker can offer. This is sparkling wine like you’ve never experienced before: fun\, educational\, and completely immersive! \nSATURDAY\, JULY 25\, 2026\, 11 AM – 1 PM at the Elkhorn Peak Cellars Estate Vineyard: 200 Polson Rd. Napa\, CA 94558 \nTicket includes: an immersive winemaking demonstration and hands-on experience\, two glasses of wine\, and a personal charcuterie plate to enjoy as you work\, taste\, and learn. Additional wine available for purchase on site. Wine Club members enjoy unlimited pours — one of the many perks of membership! Not a member yet? Join now. \nWe’re happy to welcome families! Children under 12 are free. Kindly email us ahead of time at info@elkhornpeak.com if you’ll be bringing children. \nSpace is intentionally limited to ensure a relaxed\, hands-on experience. Advance ticket purchase required. \nSchedule of Events\n11:00 AM – Arrival & Check-InGrab a glass of wine and settle in as you take in the scenic vineyard views. \n11:15 AM – Introduction to Pet NatLearn the secrets of this sparkling wine style from Elise\, right next to the vineyard where the grapes grow. Discover the science\, history\, and magic behind each bottle. \n11:30 AM – Disgorging Demo & Hands-On ExperienceGet your hands dirty! Disgorging is the process of removing sediment from a sparkling wine bottle\, and we do it the old-school way: with dry ice and careful pressure calculations. You’ll dip\, pop\, top\, recap\, and label a bottle\, guiding it through the process the entire time. There are many incredible video opportunities! Participation is optional; if you’d rather not get your hands dirty\, you can relax\, enjoy the vineyard views with a glass of wine. \n1:00 PM – DepartureWe’re happy to share restaurant or winery recommendations to round out your afternoon in Napa Valley. \nYour attendance helps support one of Napa Valley’s small family farms and a member of the Micro-Winery Guild. Thank you for your support\, and we’re excited to share our agricultural heritage with you.

SUMMARY:Join us in the vineyard: Sauvignon Blanc tasting
DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to share our 2025 Sauvignon Blanc with you—and to spend some relaxed time together in the vineyard. \nThis will be a casual\, small-group tasting held at our property (1005 4th Ave.\, Napa)\, right among the vines. Alongside our 2024 and 2025 Sauvignon Blancs\, we’ll taste a few Sauvignon Blancs from around the world to explore how different places and approaches shape the wine—and what makes Napa distinctive. \nWe’ll also take a short walk into the vineyard to talk about what’s happening in the vines this time of year and how those decisions in the field carry through to what ends up in your glass. No formal lecture—just a conversation\, some good wine\, and a chance to connect the land to the finished product. \nThe tasting will be hosted by Jim Pennella\, owner of Farang. Our approach is simple: “Fruit of the vine. Work of human hands.” This is a chance to experience that firsthand and see how what we do in the vineyard shapes the wine you taste. \nHope you can join us.

SUMMARY:Paloma’s Annual Vertical Tasting
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our third annual Vertical Tasting\, an intimate experience led by owner and winemaker Sheldon Richards. Set high atop Spring Mountain\, this year’s tasting explores two focused chapters in Paloma’s history: 1999–2001 and 2009–2011 Merlot. \nThe first three vintages—1999\, 2000\, and 2001—were made by Jim Richards & drawn from Sheldon’s personal cellar. Now more than two decades old\, these wines reflect an important early era for Paloma\, when careful farming and patient cellaring were laying the groundwork for what was to come. At the center is the 2001 Merlot—the vintage that brought international recognition when it was named Wine of the Year by Wine Spectator and received 95 points\, the highest score ever awarded to a Merlot at that time. \nExactly ten years later\, we revisit the vineyard through the 2009\, 2010\, and 2011 vintages\, made by Winemaker Sheldon Richards. Tasted alongside the earlier trio\, these wines offer a rare opportunity to see how both vine maturity and winemaking perspective evolve over a decade—while the core character of Spring Mountain Merlot remains unmistakably consistent. \nTogether\, these six wines form a deliberate comparison: two consecutive three-year windows separated by ten years. It’s a chance to taste continuity and growth side by side\, in a setting that invites conversation rather than ceremony. \nAs always\, we’ll have some charcuterie to nibble on and we will include at least one bonus pour\, typically served blind\, that ties into the theme of the vertical. This experience is intentionally small and personal\, so space is limited. Wines from the tasting will be offered exclusively as a complete six-bottle vertical set and will not be available for individual purchase. \nWe look forward to sharing this next chapter with you. \n\n\n\n\nTickets are $185 (before club discounts). Limited seats available.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMay 17th\, 2026 (1:00PM – 3:30PM). Tasting will start promptly at 1:30PM.
