Spence Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery located at 1,900 feet on Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. The Spence family purchased the property in 1994, planted the vineyard soon after, and produced the first Spence vintage in 2003. Today, we produce roughly 1,000 cases each year, led by our estate-grown Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon and a small collection of limited-production wines.

Everything we do is intentionally personal. Our wines are made in small lots, our tastings are private and by appointment, and guests are welcomed to the same property where our Cabernet is grown and our wines are made. A visit to Spence is relaxed and conversational, with plenty of time to explore the vineyard, learn what makes Howell Mountain different, and understand how the land and each growing season shape what ends up in the bottle.

Our goal is simple: to make wines that feel true to this place and share them in a way that feels genuine.
